A BIT ABOUT US

At IMPACT, we believe that women and children's rights are human rights and should be upheld and protected as such. In cases of violent conflict around the world, the rights of women and children are often trampled on leaving these vulnerable groups violated and even more at risk. IMPACT recognizes the need to not only build peace so as to ensure that conflict does not degenerate, but also raise awareness for better management of vulnerable groups in these situations.

Currently, the organization runs an NGO arm, a Development Training Centre, and a not-for-profit consultancy arm. These three arms are managed by a crop of multi-disciplinary, highly skilled, and purpose-driven personnel whose main objective is to positively impact lives in the course of work. IMPACT runs four broad programming areas: Conflict Management and Peacebuilding, Child Rights, Women’s Rights, and Youth Empowerment with Gender as a cross-cutting issue.

Built on the rich experience and passion of members of its Board of Trustees, IMPACT focuses on bringing positive change and sustainable development for its target population - children, young persons and women in difficult circumstances. The NGO has had consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN) since 2012 and has partnered with various international organizations including West Africa Network for Peace Building (WANEP), CORDAID Netherlands, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), European Union, International Labor Organisation (ILO), USAID, Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA), Women in Peacebuilding Network (WIPNET), Women Peacemakers Programme (WPP- Africa) now known as African Women's Active Non-Violence for Social Change (AWANICh), Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), Child Protection Network, Nigeria; and other coalitions/networks on women’s rights protection, amongst others.

IMPACT has continued to consolidate its partnership with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, the National Human Rights Commission, as well as other women-related CSOs towards actualizing the goals of protecting and promoting women and Children’s rights in Nigeria.
